The Storm...

About 3 weeks after arriving in Atlantic City (two weeks after moving into our new home) a huge storm blew through South Jersey (and other parts of the northeast). Making a big mess, flooding certain areas, and caused a huge power outage.

Well we were one of those "lucky" households that had no power and it was right in the middle of a heat wave. It was completely miserable! So nice of Mother Nature to welcome us to Jersey like that, huh? (She really is just too kind.)

Luckily we were already planning a trip to Connecticut to visit some friends, Steven & Treneka for the Fourth of July. So we just ended up leaving a day earlier.

Here are a few pictures from the storm, our trip to Connecticut, and the Fourth of July.

This tree belonged to the neighbor to our left. The winds were so strong it snapped it in half like a toothpick and took down a telephone pole with it. Not only that, but it blocked the whole street in that direction.

Trees like this were uprooted EVERYWHERE! We've never seen anything quiet like it and it was just so surreal.

The girls trying to keep cool the day after the storm. We didn't leave for Connecticut until the following day.

Out of New Jersey, through New York, and into Connecticut we go. It's about a 4 hour drive from our house to Middletown, Connecticut.

Eight years later and we all look the same. Shane & Steve met when they were stationed in Alexandria, Virginia at the Honor Guard. I met met The Ingrams a month after Isabella & I moved out to Virginia in May 2003.

He was such a good sport. Daniella loved playin' around with him.

(There are more pictures from our trip, just need to figure out WHERE I put them. As soon as I find them, I will add them to this post.)
