Third times the charm?!?!

After Daniella had her surgery on the 5th, I ended up taking her to the Children's Hospital because the stiches were tearing through her skin and the wound was opening. --To make a long story short... I ended up spending 3 hours in the ER with her (and the other two girls) by myself for nothing. The ER physician gave her an antibiotic injection and sent us home. Telling me to keep it wrapped up and to contact her plastic surgeon in the morning. Which I did.

Morning comes, I call the office and they tell me that they've been expecting my call and to bring Daniella in as soon as I could. Which I did. We get there and they pretty much ended up performing the same surgery on her all over again. Just this time it was in office and not in day surgery. She also was not put to sleep the second time around. They had to strap her down to a papoose board. The doctor did inject some kind of numbing medicine into the open wound so that he could restich it. But my poor baby girl cried the whole time and did not like me strapped that thing!

Fast forward to two days later... another stitch bust. Again, I had to take her to the plastic surgeons office. But this time the doctor was not in and she was seen by the nurse. Third times the charm, I guess? The nurse put some liquid bondage around the area and used steri strips to keep the wound from opening.

Now, a week later... Daniella's incision is finally starting to close and heal. But she is definitely gonna have one heck of a scar. I'm hoping over time, it isnt as noticeable.

She goes back to the plastic surgeon's office again on Monday for a check up. I'll update about her leg then. :) Here are a couple pictures. The first picture is of her incision after it got stitched for the second time. The other two are of her on medicine. Poor girl wasnt her normal energetic little self. She just wanted to follow me and lay around all day. :(
