As most of you know, Shane had to return to North Carolina for more training. Luckily, this time it is only THREE weeks long instead of five months. Yay! We miss him like crazy and can't want for his return. It feels so strange to not have him here with us... when we're use to seeing him everyday. It's almost as if a piece of our heart has broken off and gone with him. :(
It's hard being a military wife- but I love him, we're a family and we are in this together!
Thankfully, I've got a lot to keep me busy and my mind occupied while he is gone!
Daniella had her surgery today at the Children's Hospital here in Corpus Christi. I was so nervous and full of anxiety when I woke up this morning... thank goodness for anxiety meds. Otherwise, I might have had a stroke! Seriously!! It wasn't the actual surgery that I was a mess over, it was the general anesthesia. The whole going under that had me frantic. She's never been put to sleep. So that had me worrying like crazy!
But I knew God was watching over my little girl and I am so incredibly thankful. Daniella's surgery went great. Better then expected, according to the doctor. She was in and out of the surgical room in less then an hour and she spent another hour in recovery. Then I was finally able to bring her home.
She got ten stitches total and is still sore. But other then that she's pretty much her same little happy self. She's been a little sleepy today. Napping on and off since we got home... I think the anesthesia is still wearing off and her doctor also prescribed some tylenol with codiene for her pain. Just gotta keep it dry for a couple days, giving her sponge baths and keep an eye out for infection. She goes back on the 13th for her post-op appointment to see how everything is healing. I did take pictures of her at the hospital and also of her "incision". So I'll post those, so you can get a better idea.
Luckily, she is little and as she grows the scar will shrink in size. But right now it looks so huge on her tiny leg. I'm just happy it's gone and the surgery is over.
*For those of you who don't know she had a hemangioma removed. Basically, it's a blood vessel tumor. It started as a little strawberry birthmark when she was born and then over time instead of shrinking it grew bigger. The capillary blood vessels rose to the surface making a puffy spot the size of a half dollar. :( So we had it removed. Another thing was that once she started crawling, it would bleed everytime she scratched it on something.
So anyways, besides her surgery and post-op appointment. School registration is this Friday and I need to take the girls shopping for school supplies, tennis shoes and a couple new outfits. That right there is a huge ordeal in itself. Do you know what it's like taking three small kids to the store by YOURSELF? Exhausting! But I just have to tell myself to suck it up and go on... :)
Only, 15 more days until daddy comes home! Yay... (and YES, I am counting down the days.) LOL
One last thing, a big THANK YOU to everyone for their well wishes and prayers. It truly means alot to me!!
XOXO,
Tanya
