Update #2

Hurricane Sandy is making her approach. There has been LOTS of wind since early this morning and we are finally seeing some light showers. The next 48 hours are going to be insane! There is a super storm out there (they said on the weather channel that it would take 2 1/2 hours to travel from one side of Sandy to the other). It is crazy big already and it's only going to get bigger as it connects with the storms coming from the west and north. We are really going to start feeling it within the next few hours. Tomorrow and Tuesday are going to be rough; that's when the eye of the storm will be hitting our area. And after that will be totally chaos. WE WILL LOSE POWER. It is inevitable. As of now, they are estimating it to be out for 10-14 DAYS! So again, we will have LIMITED phone and internet access. PLEASE DO NOT get concerned or upset if we do not answer AND DO NOT CALL SHANE'S WORK LOOKING FOR US OR ASKING FOR UPDATES!!! I understand everyone is concerned but WE will update YOU.

Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers! Please keep them coming, not only for us but for everyone else that will be effected by this storm.

MORE info and stats...

Sandy's large wind field will be a record maker. The size of it alone, affecting such a heavily populated area, is going to be history making.

Downed trees and powerlines are to be expected.

Storm is predicted to flood the subway systems in NYC.

Predicted to be the largest storm to hit the United States.

It is still projected to make landfall between Delaware and NYC, hitting New Jersey head on.

Hurricane force winds extend 105 miles from it's center while it's tropical storm force winds extend 700 miles.

It is currently moving at 13 MPH, which is SUPER slow and will cause major damage at that speed.

Sandy is a rare, hybrid "super storm" creted by an Arctic jet stream wrapping itself around a tropical storm, possibly causing up to 12 inches of rain in some areas, as well as heavy snowfall inland.

Sandy has already killed 68 people as it made it's way through the Caribbean islands, 51 of them from Haiti alone.

As of 1:30pm EST, we've gotten some wind and rain. I will post another update soon.
